Too Wild for Saturday Piano Recital ?

This is a busy Saturday. My younger son has piano recital and older son has soccer tournament. My 17-year-old son can take care of himself. But I still need to make my 9-year-old to brush his teeth, wash his face, put on his dressy outfit, practice his piano one last time and eat something before going to the recital hall. I don't have much time to dress myself. It's raining outside. I grabbed this leather jacket. Now look at my picture, it looked a little bit too wild for piano recital. I should have wear something soft.

Casual Friday: Embroidered Jean

Wearing blue jean to work always makes me feel too casual. I put on a suit jacket to make it less casual.

Stone Necklaces from Brazil

When I look at this picture now, it looks very much like 50's style to me, big hair, polka dot swing dress and shoulder pad.

The necklaces were bought at Copacabana Beach, Rio De Janeiro Brazil. Each necklace has only one stone. I bought four necklaces. I wore three of them in this picture to match my outfit colors.

This is a picture of me taken at Rio De Janerio in June 2010:

Long Lace Skirt

Lace is very popular now on the run way. I bought this lace skirt many years ago. It's hard to tell the skirt is made of lace because the black lining.I am thinking about the ways to modernize this skirt. Maybe change the lining to nude color and shorten the skirt?

Office Lady Look

Spring break has gone very quickly and we are back to work at USA.

Day 3 in Bali (2)

Had famous dirty duck for lunch

It's a open air restaurant in the middle of rice field.

Coffee and coco plantation

Tasted Luwak Coffee
Luwak coffee is known as the most expensive coffee in the world because of the way the beans are processed and the limited supply. The luwak is an Asian palm civet, which looks like a cross between a cat and a ferret. The civet climbs the coffee trees to find the best berries, eats them, and eventually the complete bean emerges in its stool. Coffee farmers then harvest the civet droppings and take the beans to a processing plant. Luwak coffee is produced mainly on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in the Indonesian archipelago, and also in the Philippines

Day 3 in Bali (1)

Watched Magical Barong and Kris dance performance, the most popular dance in Bali.

Visited batik painting and weaving village

Visited Silver Smith Village
Wood carving Village

Bali stone carving village

Day 2 in Bali

My husband and my two sons went to Nusa Lembongan Resort for marine sports: banana boat, snorkeling, jet ski ...
I went to shopping at  Kuta Center.

It seems that my 9-year-old son likes our hotel pool better than open sea.

Had dinner at a Chinese Seafood Restaurant. The dinner cost is over 3 million Indonesian Rupiah. That's about US $350. In low cost Indonesia, that's a ridiculously high price.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana is a massive, unfinished statue in Bali. The statue (if completed) would depict the Hindu god Vishnu (or Dewa Wisnu, as he is known by the Balinese) riding aloft on his winged mount Garuda.

Had afternoon tea in Bali King's palace.
Shared the fried banana desert and bottle of water with wild monkey.

Had sunset dinner at Jimbaran Beach.

Trying to play the Bali Indonesia Bamboo Xylophone angklung at the Jimbalan .

Day 1 in Bali

We had breakfast at Padi Thai Restaurant in Ayana. This restaurant acclaimed as the best in Indonesia  for its innovative yet traditional cuisine. The breakfast is served in buffet style.

A glass bottom boat took us to Turtle Island.

The Turtle island has more than just turtles.

The coco nut is very cheap here. 1 US dollar = 8600 Indonesian rupiah. One coco nut is just a little over $1.
